There are also wild boars and macaque monkeys and you are advised to not rustle plastic bags, because they associate the noise with food. Even before we entered the park we had seen Black-naped Orioles , Tree Sparrows , Large-billed Crow , Javan Myna, Orange-bellied Flowerpecker, Olive-backed Sunbird and an Oriental Dollarbird. By the time we reached the Upper Thomson Road we had a spent three hours sauntering through the park and had a list of over forty bird species.

Back on dirt tracks by a Desert Wheatear decorated bush (bellow), to spot five or six Wild boars disappearing among the bushes. They belong to the same species like those found back in Europe, Sus scrofa – which inhabits a belt stretching from northern Africa and Europe all the way to Indonesia, but a different subspecies, S.s.
