ALWAYS assume there is some other bird species in there that you have not found yet. Here is a flock of endangered species. In the case of these Tricolored Blackbirds , they are formed for DEFENSE. Could a Sharp-tailed Sandpiper be mixed in with that flock of Pectorals ? Buldir Island, AK.

Mai Po Nature Reserve : world famous locale for shorebirds, waterfowl, waders, and wetland birds; wintering grounds for certain endangered species. The combination of these scheduled and informal birding efforts culminated in an amazing 135 species seen, many of which were lifers for me! SPECIES LIST. 2 Eurasian Wigeon.

My best bird of the year is based on the sighting rather than the species. Obviously my best bird of the year is going to come during this trip, what with several species of endemic pitta and broadbill possible, not to mention 8 species of hornbill and numerous babblers, storks, kingfishers, trogons and even the endemic Bornean Bristlehead.
