Maybe author Sy Montgomery is right when she says that “birdwatchers often look down on falconry,” and maybe not. In The Hawk’s Way, Montgomery is very good on the ethical dilemmas inherent in falconry, centered on both the bird and the woman, even if she never resolves any of them definitively.
