Polygynandry and avian swingers

Dale studied scarlet macaws, and worked in their conservation, for three years in southern Costa Rica, followed by a year in the Caribbean working on Whale Sharks. Might I assume that women typically bear fewer children, or fewer survive? Do you know of any references for this? In this case, they would be exhibiting polyandry.

Chacachacare Island

In contemplating a title for this blog post, I vacillated between historical and geological references. Chacachacare was also the site of a US Army base, a leper colony, and before that, a whaling station. Tobago of course bears a closer geological relation to the aforementioned Netherlands Antilles than it does to Trinidad.
