When I designed my first website several years ago ( Aimee’s Animals ) the goal was to help animals find homes. The internet evolved, and this site was created with a bigger, better vision, but the goal remained the same… help animals find homes through promoting rescue groups.

Save the Planet: Adopting a shelter pet not only saves a life, but it reduces demand for purebred animals, which are more likely to have medical problems due to genetic abnormalities. According to the RSPCA, in 2008 there was a 57% increase in the number of animals abandoned by their owners in the UK. A similar problem is also occurring in the United States, where the Humane society of the United states claims that up to 8 million animals enter animal shelters each year, showing that this is an international problem.

We’ve dealt with many animal welfare agencies around the world, but have never encountered one so responsive, helpful and positive as the Humane Society of Grand Bahama. Since then, their vet has discovered that Fortune, the kitten with the eye problem has a congenital condition called Coloboma.
