If you take a feral pigeon, bleach it and then batik it using the right colors, the result might be a Pink-necked Green Pigeon (1). Plus hopefully, you will be arrested for mistreating animals. So, I guess I learned that Oriental Pied Hornbills are fairly common in Singapore.

Are Thai Temple Tigers Drugged?

Some conservationists worry that the tigers living at a Buddhist Temple in Thailand are drugged, but the monks deny it. The temple says the money goes toward caring for the tigers (each animal eats 13 pounds of meat a day) and construction of "Tiger Island," where it is hoped the tigers will soon move to live in larger enclosures.A

Large species, like the hatchet-billed Lapped-faced Vulture or the large Cape Vulture gets first dips, because they are the only species that can tear open the hides of some of the larger prey animals. They mimic snakes, a claim to fame that goes all the way back to Aristotle’s History of Animals.
