I just found a kitten crying out for help on the side of the road at night on a walk. submitted by /u/Independent-Owl-5155 [link] [comments] I scooped it up and took it home with me but all the stores with formula are closed because it is 2 am here. Should I have left it? I don’t know if it’s mom was around.

No coyotes in sight right now, the Great Horned Owls are off in the cottonwoods closer to the river. Also ferrets are curious animals, explorers, willing to take risks; they’ve had to be. Ferret 492 — a black-footed ferret, Mustela nigripes — raises her head from a black-tailed prairie dog’s burrow, sniffs the April night.

They are all wonderful people and they are all animal lovers. But I’ve learned we love animals in very different ways. She captured the cats, the “mom” kitty and her kittens were all taken from their neighborhood where they were not wanted, all were fixed and then…all were released in her yard.
