Over the years, I've noticed that the role of animals jumps out at me in any book I read. Here is one example. It's a book by Tracy Kidder about Dr. Paul Farmer, an international health advocate who made his name from his work in Haiti and his fight against Multi-Drug Resistant Tuberculosis (MDR). I read a lot. A whole lot.
