At some point, I almost convinced myself that it would be a good idea to publish a coffee table photo book just showing Red-billed Oxpecker on various animals. And drying on a giraffe with your friends. Cattle Egrets using public transport. Alone time. Taking a bath …. What a life. Kingfishers – the poor man`s Pittas?

Just stepping away from the birds for a minute, because you can’t really do any kind of story about Kruger National Park, and not at least mention the animals. The best I could do to mix both the birds and the animals was in the picture at the top of this story. The mighty rhino along with the Cattle Egret.

An expanse of habitat as vast as Murchison Falls NP in Uganda, as excessively generous in beauty and biodiversity, permits endless ways to experience both its birds and animals. I recommend both, but either should net you Rock Pratincole , a cool falls specialty. Rock Pratincoles.

This is also why you very rarely find a photo of a giraffe on top of one of these posts – the other reason of course being that a giraffe photo would be relatively pointless in a birding blog. When Cattle Egrets go to the local discotheque, they tend to overdo their makeup a bit.

In the north of the reserve, by the Tadoba Lake, a herd of Chital Deer is grazing, with a familiar sight of Cattle Egrets around them.
