A monkey was rescued from a factory in India where it was being held in captivity. According to the article, "Zoochosis is a term used by animal rights activists in reference to the degrading effect of zoos on animals that have been kept in captivity over a long period of time. Poor monkey!

Wonder if that could get activists into trouble under AETA (Animal Enterprise Terrorism Act.) This is a long article from the Gainesville Sun. Animal rights activists are targeting a University of Florida researcher for his role in experiments on primates — even though he says he doesn't personally conduct animal research.

I responded to a post on animalblog that cited a recent article in the journal "Proceedings" of the National Academy of Sciences. I recently had a discussion about medical research using animals. There is more and more evidence that animal testing is NOT necessarily the best route to take. Perhaps it was a necessary “evil.”
