Midway Atoll National Wildlife Refuge. Des Lacs National Wildlife Refuge, North Dakota. These Black-legged and Red-legged Kittiwakes only need to fear gulls and Peregrine Falcons , although bad weather and erosion do take their toll on nests. This is my flock of Laysan Albatross , on Midway Atoll.

but I really feel I should nominate an albatross, if only because I love taunting Corey about them. I’ll go for the Black-browed Albatross , in celebration of the fact that conservation efforts have resulted in this species being downgraded from endangered to near threatened this year.
