Feeding birds is generally regarded as a harmless past-time, a wholesome way for people to share nature and enjoy wildlife with the family. The area has a law in place to prevent attracting deer, you can have a bird feeder, but you can’t offer food on the ground. Another example would be the Eagle Lady in Alaska.

We are spending some time here on my wife’s family property right on the water. My Father-in-law had worked with the DOC here to establish a managed wetland here on the property, and it has been well received by the very rare Brown Teal. What an incredible place, and as a bonus, it is loaded with birds.

Both Puerto Rico and the USVI have active birding communities that are currently excluded from full membership in the ABA family. All Americans Should be Full Members of the ABA Family. Adding Puerto Rico and the USVI would largely achieve the goal of bringing all Americans into full membership of the ABA family.
