We let a one-eyed Bald Eagle go after a year of battling state officials in Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Indiana and Kentucky. Biologists are trying to get them to adopt nest boxes, but no luck with the CA birds so far. It was like they said, “You reek of humans, go wash.”. That was 9 years ago.

Most of my family lives in Indiana, but thanks to social media we can easily keep in touch. “Why can’t the kittens be adopted,” I asked in her comments section. I took my furlough due to the government shut down as a chance to go down to Indiana and visit my family. “They don’t want to be inside.
