Fortunately, the birds are quite welcome by birders at Beihai Wetlands near Tengchong, Yunnan, China – not surprising given their attractive appearance. An Indian Grey-headed Swamphen (near Delhi). Not very grey-headed either.

They are also early adopters with regard to their foraging – nowadays mostly following tractors rather than cattle.

Not everyone is able to adopt for financial reasons (or have a child for biological reasons), and I don't think it's unethical to desire and create a biological child.
