They mimic snakes, a claim to fame that goes all the way back to Aristotle’s History of Animals. ’ Gorman has read and distilled probably every research study ever written about Wrynecks or related to them; my quick count of the citations in the 16-page References section came to 295. This is a very easy book to read.
