Big Year Birding Update

Seeing as it is near the midway point of the year I thought it would be nice to check in on how the blogging Big Year birders are doing thus far in 2012. Not only that, but they are doing their big year to raise money for the Houston Audubon Society and the Katy Prairie Conservancy. It’s quite a list!

Outside of Florida, there are also growing populations in Los Angeles, San Antonio, and Houston. Egyptian Goose sightings submitted to eBird in 2011-2012. This popular cagebird also seems to have a toehold in the Houston area. Egyptian Goose sightings submitted to eBird in 2013-2014.

Wrap-Up of 2012 Big Year Birding

There were quite a few big years that took place in 2012. Perhaps the biggest big year of 2012 was in Australia. Not only that, but they raised money for the Houston Audubon Society and the Katy Prairie Conservancy. Here are the final results, so far as I was able to figure them out. Did I miss anyone?
