The Blackbird die-off that was observed in north-west Baden-WĂĽrttemberg, neighbouring parts of Rheinland-Pfalz and southern Hessen in 2011 was caused by the Usutu Virus. The Usutu Virus’ origins are in Africa south of the Sahara.
