Of those traits, there are two kinds: The ones that are bird-like, but are not shared between birds and other animals because of a common ancestor having had the trait. These animals were small, had highly efficient respiratory systems, were feather-clad, and may have soared around a bit. Horses have six upper and lower on each side.
