In 2007 I was working in a university building that was just begging for bird feeders. I put it in a small box for several hours, where it appeared to recover, but studies have shown that internal injuries from a strike usually kill the bird. Dead birds are a part of the life of a birder, a feeder of birds, and of bird science.
