It’s actually found in a wadi in the United Arab Emirates, in the mountains between Dubai and the Gulf of Oman. The species used to be lumped with the commensal House Bunting, but the two are now treated as separate species. Long may it last. A whole bunch coming for a drink.

The travel agent mentioned I had a 2 hour layover in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates. I was flying Emirates and that was the hub. The location was a good spot to see Arabian Oryx, a species I hoped to see but didn’t. It was actually a moment’s impulse. So there would be some birding.
