I rescued 5 puppies and their mom 3 months ago. The vet recommended a minimum of 5 days of treatment. I'm terrified that the vet might stop the treatment, and I don't want these pups to suffer or worse. The vet has stressed the importance of completing the full treatment for a chance at recovery.

Fortunately the donkey was rescued by the Society for the Protection of Animals Abroad (SPANA). No, their suffering will be far more drawn out. Humar, pictured on the right, is just one animal to have suffered this traditional, yet ineffective treatment, to horrifying effect. His suffering didn’t stop there.

I’d been volunteering at rescues through my young adulthood, and I was training as a cat socializer, teaching terrified felines — the unlucky victims of cruel people — to trust humans again.
