These stray dogs are also without vaccinations, making them easy targets for contracting rabies. Many of the dogs are sick, injured, or starving.

This day of fun with Hollywood flair will raise funds for seven Los Angeles animal rescues, all non-profit 501c3 organizations, who together help save thousands of animal lives. Because of foreclosures, the city shelters are in crisis and flooded with animals – which, in turn, has dramatically increased the euthanasia rate.

The Santa Paws Drive is an online toy drive dedicated to shelter pets to bring them a little joy and fun while they await their forever homes.
