NBC rejected PETA's Super Bowl ad because it was too sexual. Tags: vegan PETA vegetarian. You have just got to see it and judge for yourself. It's quite memorable.

One guy runs Vegan Outreach and the other is a VP at PETA (they have those?). The most constructive part of the book (and possibly the most shocking to those who are only peripherally familiar with the vegetarian movement and who might therefore expect radicalism) is the authors' discussion of tolerance in all activities.

I'm a vegan who thinks we shouldn't be using animals even if we change the conditions of their use. Of course there are oodles of vegetarians who mention veganism and how difficult and restricting it is, and overall I'm having a fairly disheartening experience. After all, who I am doesn't stop at vegan.

Are we pinning people down and force-feeding them vegan burritos? According to Parker, here are the threats: the ALF, the ELF, SHAC, PeTA and the oddest member of the group, the HSUS. Just think of how much vegan education and animal care could be accomplished with the money in those large organizations " is what I would say to Parker.

I say "if you know someone" because this isn't a book I'd recommend to vegans for their vegan education efforts. The vegans I know would probably find it a bit maddening, and here's why: We aren't sure whether Foer is a vegan. He always refers to himself and his wife and his child as "vegetarian."
