In some cases the data are outdated, e.g. Costa Rica has 900 and not 800 species, but I made no corrections, remaining faithful to the original map data. Shockingly, the Ashy-throated Parrotbill apparently is a species heavily hunted for bird fighting in Guizhou Province, China ( source ). The other is to mention that the name commemorates Edward Blyth (1810-1873), who published the first description of the species. However, instead of a tit joke, some wren pornography.
