There is a wealth of information about these marvelous creatures, given via prose essays, and charts, and tables – it’s all quite user-friendly.

Sasol Birds of Southern Africa, 5th edition

And so, back to political entities, this field guide covers Namibia , Botswana , Zimbabwe , the southern half of Mozambique (south of the Zambezi River), South Africa , Lesotho and Eswatini ( Swaziland ). Yet, unless you live in the region, you are likely to have a vague idea where the Zambezi flows and no idea where Kunene is.

Review: Sasol eBirds of Southern Africa

You can ever touch the scale on the right hand side roughly where you think it will be (albatross and penguins at the top, woodpeckers and larks in the middle, weavers and estrilid finches at the bottom) then scroll quickly to where you want to be. Overall, I found the function worked best in South Africa compared to other countries.
