Although this park was logged in the past, as a national park it is one of the few forests in Ghana that is really protected. . All these forests are in “protected” forest reserves, however at some, logging permits are reportedly being issued for harvesting of these forests. What makes Ghana so special?

Ankasa Resource Reserve close to the Ivory Coast Border – travelling in style! It taunted us whilst calling from an undisclosed perch until finally it revealed itself allowing the distinctive black throat stripe and dark spotted breast to be examined and just as a troop of Spot-nosed Monkeys pass right by us! Truly fantastic.
