Resident Red-tailed Monkeys, Vervet Monkeys, and Bushbabies are fun to watch but they do throw “stuff” at your cabin. This is my first post, so I won’t provide details on the stuff, but you know monkeys – they have a weird sense of humor. The local community protects the swamp because it’s the home of their totem, the lungfish.

It’s under the jurisdiction of the Exotic Species Division of the Department of Environmental Protection, which is a division of US Fish and Wildlife. In Oregon you can’t own any “dangerous” wild animals, but you can get a special permit for a service monkey and anyone can fill their backyard with giraffes. Are we fed up yet?
