No, the problem with “empids” is that they all look exactly alike… all 15 species! Why they can’t all agree on a single species and lump themselves, I’ll never know. All because you do not live in central Mexico, where most of these species spend the winter, all jumbled together.

The interesting habits of Harris’s Hawks

For as long as I have been living here in Mexico, I have truly enjoyed watching the Harris’s Hawks antics. harrisi can be found in southern Texas, Eastern Mexico and much of Central America. Soaring on the warm desert updrafts, or sitting on a group of cactus tops, always in groups of two, three or more.
