They have also been known as Lion Baboons and Bleeding-heart Baboons, due respectively to the males’ lion-like cape and tail, and the bare patch of red skin on both sex’s chests. On that first trip, I even saw some of the last 500 (Asiatic) Lions ! monkeys, deer, gazelles, etc.). Most mammal guides aimed at wildlife watchers (and not scientists) tend to cover small and cryptic species as a group only, not going to a species level. I clearly needed a mammal book. Highly recommended. cm Weight 0.4
