He asked whether cows, chickens, sheep and some of the other animals that we eat are usually treated and killed in a humane manner. The meat industry will say yes, of course, all animals are treated and killed humanely. The eventual kill is quick, clean, and painless. It's a thoughtful question I wish more people would ask.

There were birders from a wide cross-section of the United States: Colorado, Ohio, Idaho, Iowa, Wyoming, Washington State, Pennsylvania, New York State, New Jersey, California, Texas, Florida. The leopards place their kill in a tree, protecting it from poaching by other predators. So, the best way to find a leopard is to find the kill.

consider pointing out to a few of the biggest and most influential (food-wise) LGUs -- Iowa State, Cornell, University of California-Davis -- the harm they're doing globally by continuing to promote meat despite the known dangers to animals, people, and the environment. Many say you can’t eat meat and be an environmentalist.

The State of Louisiana has increased fines for illegal killing of bears. The Patoka River National Wildlife Refuge and satellite unit Cane Ridge Wildlife Management Area have both been designated as Important Bird Areas by the National Audubon Society because of large nesting populations of prothonotary warblers and interior least terns.
