New England Reptile Distributers just released a video explaining a terrible incident involving the FWC (Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission). The 10-year-old Boa was pregnant and had been raised by McAdam since it was a baby. The man who owned the snakes, Chris Coffee, had legally possessed them for years.

It was decreed a national symbol of Honduras on 28 June 1993 by the National Congress of Honduras as a way to raise awareness of the varied avifauna of Honduras. Fish & Wildlife comes in response to a lawsuit brought by the Center for Biological Diversity. Their plumage is simply amazing and the colors are astounding.

They are large passerines and research has shown them to be an ancient basal offshoot from the passerine tree (at approximately the same time as rockjumpers, were even placed in the same family until quite recently). According to the World Bank, up to 80 percent of Ghana’s forests had been destroyed by illegal logging by 2008.
