That’s the finding of researchers from the University of Sheffield in the UK, published in Proceedings of the Royal Society B. (If This differs from humans and other mammals, in which the addition of extra sperm essentially destroys the egg. The research doesn’t fully explain why “supernumerary” (as if they were extras in an opera!)

Not sure why they spend time in Shanghai in winter when they could come here though, but then again, I usually do not understand most of the behavior of humans either. He was also nearly strangled by a pet python that he kept. Yes, we have them in Shanghai as well. Jerdon has also been noted as being rash.

Birding Nonggang, Guangxi, China – part 2

The breeding ecology of the Yellow-bellied Warbler was actually studied exactly here at Nonggang in 2019 by 3 Chinese researchers. Apparently, some bird photographers think that any human artifacts shown on a bird photo immediately spoil the whole photo. This included recording a total of 77,760 minutes of video.

Other research (cited on the rather straightforwardly named website www.genderinclusivebiology.com) found that 80% of gay swan couples successfully fledge their young, compared with only 30% for straight couples. On the other hand, given China’s low birth rate, they might serve as an example for the future.

It seems the ones I got decent photos of are all juveniles – it generally seems to be easier to get photos of juveniles as they have not quite learned to avoid humans. Thank god that this does not apply to humans. Sometimes being a member of the human race feels very embarrassing.
