I once knew a guy who kept and raised cats. In some regions of the world, the carnivore landscape is taken up by many different cats at the middle and larger range, and by things like civets and mongoose at the smaller end. Also, feral Cats on islands seem to be a serious problem, causing the extirpation of some indigenous species.

This Cape Francolin was raising a family less than a hundred metres from the main gate. I have seen unconcerned Cape Grey Mongoose and Four-striped Mice though.
