"We are fighting a war against fish, and we are. That brief trailer could be a gift in the disguise of paradoxical message about how we can still kill and eat fish, yet not be at war with them. That tells me that we're still at war, as we are going to continue to kill fish because we can and we want to.

The problem with that statement is it's not as if farmers are searching "the wild" for cows, pigs, chicken and fish, plucking them from their homes, and plopping them on a farm to live out their (shortened) lives prior to slaughter. They are created to be slaughtered. Tags: Ethics Language.

It's just another excuse people have concocted because they like the taste of cow/pig/chicken/fish flesh. Why choose enslavement, rape, domination and slaughter? So we went from a ban to a vague statement about the prevention of abuse that clearly doesn't consider slaughter abusive. Or if it's brutal it is necessary.

At a minimum, catching and releasing a fish inflicts pain, terror, and temporary disability. Many fishes are released with a gaping hole where they were stabbed and held aloft for photos" (66). . Fishers who catch and release may kill more fishes than those who catch only the number they're legally allowed to keep.

And I want Baby Sky to grow up in a home where there is just as much respect for chickens and calves and fishes as there is for greyhounds and cats and people. And if you know someone who still eats fish or anyone else from the sea, this is a fantastic book, as I don't recall anyone giving sea creatures the respect they deserve in a long time (and telling their audience the truth about their lives and deaths). The site says food production factories are included , but I doubt that means those involving the slaughter of animals.). Perhaps they are taught that other cultures eat animals other than cows, chickens, fish and pigs, I don't know. Tags: Activism Current Affairs Ethics. Any other factories on the agenda? One is male.
