The snake had no puncture wounds, and was released 24 hours later. Key West Wildlife Center takes mostly birds, but will rescue mammals, marine mammals, and both land and sea turtles as well. KWWC also has a thriving feral chicken sideline. “He probably decided to make a meal out of the snake, but the snake had other ideas.”.

Cat and dog rescuers share with wildlife rehabilitators the unfortunate burden of healing the hurt caused by other humans. They pointed out the puncture wounds, likely infected with bacteria that could quickly kill. It’s a bottomless heartache. They simply helped me with my bird.
