It’s relatively easy to classify birds into family groups based on physical characteristics. We view them as our enemies when they eat our crops and as an extension of our family when we see them at our feeders. We worship birds, we hunt birds, we protect birds, and, yes, we eat birds. So, I just sit here, amazed at this book.

Its success is due in part to its adaptability and opportionism it is primarily a hunter but may also scavenge, with the capacity to eat and digest skin, bone and other animal waste. During a hunt, spotted hyenas often run through ungulate herds to select an individual to attack. It's not easy to catch them.
