The food was better than decent, which exceeds our experience of Panamanian cuisine at most other locations. Despite the golf course, this place host all manner of birds and mammals. In fact, we saw two species of monkey, our only sloths, lots of coatis, and my rarest ever mammal sighting—a Jaguarundi —right on site.

And even though transportation is so easy and inexpensive, prepare to walk a lot. I read that the Peak was a great place for thrushes in winter; experience proved the veracity of that observation, but you’ll need to examine the underbrush closely. BONUS MAMMAL SPECIES LIST.
