On Thanking Slaughtered Sheep for Book Awards

In her blog yesterday she wrote of her experience accepting the award, and who she thanked and didn't thank. In my own defense, I was nervous, a bright floodlight shone right in my eyes, and I was worried because the mike seemed too low. But instead of being sad or upset at the lamb chop on my plate, I was overcome with gratitude.

By the last year of the war, the US increased its military aid to the Greek Government and introduced a new weapon: the first napalm attack after World War II took place right here! The cuisine was magnificent, especially lamb. Even 70 years later, the elders still do not like to talk about it. Also, trekking poles proved useful.
