Many dogs are rescued out of abusive or traumatic situations, causing them to exhibit a wide variety of emotional and behavioral problems. However, that doesn’t mean they can’t make great companions for the right adoptive family. Juliet and Foxy, a Terrier mix and a Chow Chow/Cocker Spaniel mix, are my rescues.

It was bit of a traumatic experience for me and I vowed to never own an animal again. But as I began my search for a new family member at local shelters, I noticed that something was terribly wrong—I couldn’t hold the dogs I was considering adopting for more than 5 minutes before going into a sneezing convulsion.
