Honduras was finally a reality. Excellent 10,000 Birds posts have been written about Pico Bonito and Honduras by Corey and Carlos , so I’m going to focus on some of my most memorable experiences. Our group got to see another species that is a master of camouflage on our trip for the Honduran Emerald. And lots of greenery.

But, as I have already shown in one of my two posts about visiting Cuero y Salado Wildlife Refuge, that is exactly what the boat load of birders I was with got the chance to see way back at the beginning of March. The female of the species lays ten to thirty eggs in a burrow she digs about 65 days after mating.

Honduras , Malaysia and the southern-most bits of South Africa feature large this month with Mike, Duncan and Tom all vying to be MVB for June. Mike made a splash on the profile with his Honduras expedition and pushed the ‘countries visited’ total to 45. Jamaica Bay, Big Egg Marsh. Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge.
