Guyana had been suffering from an extensive period of drought when we visited, this lack of water ultimately was the primary reason which prevented us from searching for the Harpy Eagle. However, the torrential rain forced these large cracids back into the now almost completely dark forest just as it pushed us into shelter.

In the grand scheme of things, this is just a small town and only one person was killed due to injuries suffered. Ben Lizdas at Eagle Optics provided immediate assurance that they would do something. In fact, Eagle Optics did more than they initially suggested they would. clothing and shelter.
