Birders care about bird science and conservation, but also about access to birding sites and facilities as those locations, etc. Avian science and conservation are well covered by large and well-financed national non-profits. Secondly, the ABA should increase and formalize its advocacy for birders.

The Sibley Guide to Birds, Second Edition: A Review of an Iconic Guide in a New Edition

You can interpret this major change as Sibley creating his own design template, utilizing placement to create connections and putting more trust in users’ basic knowledge. The general location of the section on Ducks, Geese, and Swans can be found in the front, in the Contents listing. I wish we had the equivalent for color.
