Most of the lifers I saw in Denver were named after (in)famous people, so Messrs. At the end of last summer, I had to make a business trip to Denver, Colorado. Not only did my research show a lot of promising sites to visit, but I also have two good birding friends in the region, Laura and Brad. My sincere apologies.

Holt founded the Owl Research Institute , an organization that focuses on long-term studies of a variety of species of owls, as well as their prey species and environments. Why Ninepipes?

I flew into Denver from Mexico. What is 100% true is the flight number I took into Denver: 420. In the spirit of Denver 420 we were so mellow and chill that we cried but a single tear. After a pleasant morning with ducks, crisp snow and sunshine, we followed the wildlife trail on our way out. Of course, I made that up.
