Don’t assume your dog is tick-free just because you can’t readily see one. You may not spend much time outdoors, but if your dog does, then you can get a tick, too. Above all, check your dog for ticks frequently. They can resemble freckles, moles or even specks of dirt. Also, they can hide behind floppy ears or in long fur.

Often busy with cyclists, runners, dog-walkers and boaters to name a few. He moved from Delaware to Colorado and then like a week later this bird shows up in Denver. Venues for birding are on the short list, but where the immediate Denver locale comes short in numbers of sites, we make up for in quality of birding.

Nothing that couldn’t be achieved through dogged determination and Redbull! First he drove to Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge, Delaware to twitch a possible Little Egret that had showed up. At that point, the tide was changing to high tide in Delaware so he wisely decided to chase the Little Egret , again.

Okay, I accept this is somewhat unconventional, but I can’t get away from the fact that the Painted Wolf , or African Wild Dog , comes up every time I try and think about this. This is a nighthawk in Delaware but, you know what? My Best Bird of the Year is… Not a bird. Close enough… What about me?
