To civilians who may have been puzzled by the wildlife crowd’s tossed-off references to peefas, modos or mice cubes, here is a beginner’s guide to Rehabberspeak. Coyote bombs with sizzling wicks, so even at my sleepiest one glance at her chart would snap me into “en garde.” Here’s an example.

After a pleasant morning with ducks, crisp snow and sunshine, we followed the wildlife trail on our way out. Coming down from the emotional high we noticed our grumbling stomachs: time to eat. We also saw Prairie Dogs , Bison , Mule Deer , Abert’s Squirrel and Coyote. I am not a fan of American restaurants.

But I don’t agree with the supplemental feeding that happens with feral cats–if you’re gonna call them wildlife, treat them as such. I have a dog, cats (domestic and feral), birds raccoons, hawks, owls, coyotes, foxes, bunnies and mice…they all share the yard and the woods.
