High Elevation Birding in Costa Rica at Providencia

Costa Rica is a tropical country but it doesn’t have to be hot. To be honest, I shouldn’t downplay the lower temperatures of Costa Rica’s high elevations. A bird of treeline and paramo habitats in Costa Rica and Panama, this wren is a main target for visiting birders.

Resolutions for Birding in Costa Rica, 2019

10,000 Birds

You had to make that resolution to go outside and trudge through the snow, brave those temps but the Great Gray Owl was worth it, those three Bohemian Waxwings lording over a flock of Cedars was priceless. I actually really hope to see this bird in 2019 in Costa Rica. Add 10 species to my Costa Rica list.
