He recently set up a charity, High Weald Swifts, to promote conservation in the UK of this now “red-listed” species. He has a particular passion for Swifts. It was a male Kestrel.

The species that calls western Montana home is the black cottonwood, while plains and narrowleaf cottonwood call the rest of the state home. They shelter and shade, feed and bind. Near the river it’s a blizzard, complete with drifts on the sides of the path and white flotillas on the water. The are strong, they are important.

This is cattle country and it is actually fenced, which many parts of the Kimberley are not and you pass through Ruby Plains and then Carranya station to reach the crater. I am uncertain of the exact species of dragon that we commonly found on the rim. Dragon on the rim. Grevillea wickhamii flowers. Mulla mulla. Camel bush.
