Pantanal is about the size of Florida and is the largest fresh water swamp in the world; it is full of birds and other wildlife making it one the most biodiverse ecosystems in the world. Unfortunately this place, like all other biodiverse places in the world, is being destroyed and threaten by us, the needy greedy humans.

Whooping Crane, Florida. There is a small resident population in Polk County, Florida, in the middle of the peninsula, mostly on protected land, and once in a while they show up in a place where they can be easily observed. So, I was excited to read reports in late 2017 of a pair of Whooping Cranes being seen on a cattle farm.
