Dear Outdoor Cat Owners/Feral Cat Supporters, Does the photo above sicken you? I’m allergic to cats, but in my lifetime I’ve rescued five of them. The last one, who took up residence under my house on a frigid January afternoon, is now a friend’s happy, healthy indoor cat. Is it the fault of the cats?

You can notice in the above images how the Leopard uses her eye-lids as hoods to protect her sensitive eyes from the bright sun as she sprinted towards us. The Wild Cat was such a large individual that the Leopard actually struggled to walk normally whilst dragging it along.

Wildlife rehabilitators have an arsenal of equipment and techniques we use to protect ourselves. I was wearing the lead x-ray apron and heavy raptor gloves, so I thought I was protected. Most of them think we’re trying to eat them, not help them. Frightened and defensive, they react accordingly. I knew he was going to be trouble.
