My cats refuse to even try Fiery Minivets. While my cats like the taste of the Greater Racket-tailed Drongo , they tend to look fairly ridiculous eating them, as the racket tail sticks out of their mouth. The associated bird species seek out drongos, apparently relying upon them heavily for protection.

This is a cruise like no other, full of scientific lectures, over forty guides spread out on deck, bird-themed parties, and a lights-off mandate to protect birds at night. The marine protected area status was designated in 2013. The cats were eradicated by 1991, which left the mice population to go unchecked.

Geophagy, the intentional consumption of soil by vertebrates, has long been documented in a number of bird and mammal species – including wide-spread use by humans – which consume soil to increase absorption of certain minerals not naturally occurring in the local diet.
